Today, was a nice day. So, my friend (we'll call her JH) and I went on the RiverWalk in our town. It's 1.8 miles long. So, it wasn't ambitious, but it's so pretty. We took JH's dog along with us, but she kind of lagged behind... She gets distracted. It was fun, though. I'm hoping to do something a little more strenuous in the next couple of days. But we'll see how JH is feeling.
Just because you may have an fitness place in your town doesn't mean that you have to get a membership there. Use what you have. Go on a long walk around town. Fill up empty milk jugs with water for weights. Buy a workout DVD and follow it in your living room. I use one called "Dancing With The Stars: Dance off the Pounds". I have the luxury of having an exercise room at my work, so I go there instead of dancing like a dork in my apartment.
What's working for you? What are your weaknesses?

Losing It?

Introducing....
A brand new me. I'm an almost 21 year old single female. I love Jesus, my family, my friends, and am finally starting to love myself. No, this blog won't be about how crazy I'm going, that'd be interesting, though. I'm here to chronicle my weight loss.
Let me give you a little background on why I'm losing weight. First, I was trying (and failing) to lose weight to be a bombshell bride. Yup. I was getting married. I don't need to go into the why of what happened, but I'm no longer getting married. I am a much happier person without that man. Anyways. Now that I'm losing weight for myself (to be happier and for a goal), the pounds are practically falling off. Since December 2010, I've lost just over 30 pounds. How awesomely crazy is that?!
I've always been a chunky person. I didn't care about it until about a year ago. I know that being overweight is a growing issue in this country. Most people's problem with trying to lose the excess weight is not having someone to exercise with and to motivate them. Find someone with a similar body type and similar goals!
I'm lucky to have my best friend in the same town and we have similar body types (though she weighs less than me [dang her!]). We're working to have "beach bodies" for a cruise. And we're being reasonable. Summer 2012.
My weaknesses are McDonalds fries and shakes and my local bakery's chocolate filled croissant.
My strengths are working third shift, having my friend, and having to buy my own food! I love healthy foods (uncooked spinach, ground turkey instead of ground beef, etc.)
My friend and I are doing a decent combination of cardio and abs... I would much prefer the cardio. I love running and dancing. I bought us a Dancing with the Stars workout dvd, and it's fun. I totally recommend it. We've had to seriously slow it down, though.
